TRESIVIO (mt. 504)
The elegance of the square to discover a Tresivio and its surroundings.
The grandeur of the past in this country, interrupted by the arrival of the Grisons in 1513 that destroyed the fourteenth century castle, is found in stately homes.
On the cliff where stood the castle, now you can admire the oratory of Calvary, the seventeenth century.
Harmonic bell tower of the Parish Church of Saints Peter and Paul, the only element medieval after the changes that underwent over the centuries: the façade is in fact in Baroque style, marked by four pilasters and enriched with niches with statues of saints.
The villages and vineyards in the past were a source of archaeological finds: ornaments and coins dating back to Roman tombstones with inscriptions dating from the Etruscan civilization.
The country that gave birth to the legal historian Henry Besta still gives evidence of great religious faith who has always been: in every village there is a church even if the most important religious building is the imposing sanctuary of the Holy House Loreto, the late eighteenth century, situated on a hill overlooking the valley.
